Who would have guessed that it will overtake Mario within a few years? Think about it. The entire internet gets all riled up whenever any news about Donkey Kong appears, but when there is a new Mario game, then it's more milquetoast.
It's to the point where the internet demanded K. Rool to be in Smash Bros and elsewhere, but they will not do the same about, for instance, Wart, even though he was in Super Mario Bros 2.
