Normally I would agree with you, but I invited these kids to my office during lunch to test them and they were able to read/comprehend Harry Potter and THBP. I want to start slow then slowly introduce keywords and essential MTG-essential vocab

I'm justifying it by buying opened commons/uncommons from a local store that has tables and events. I'm not 15 anymore, I'm not buying booster packs or products aimed at noobs. But yes I hate modern cards, artwork, UB, and the mindless consoomption that the game has death-spiralled into

I'll see if the store I plan to visit has boxes of set-specific bulk. I hope LGS's still do that. I saw that WotC still makes 30 card intro decks so I might grab one of those and some singles if possible. Thank you
