Silver needs a good permanent removal from the series. Problem is since Generations we've been caught in this backward-looking navel-gazey bullshit where we keep having to go "oh yeah remember that game???" for every Sonic game ever, so instead of just moving on from the bad entries and forgetting about them, we keep rubbing salt in the wound. I don't know who the fuck is in charge approving of this shit or thinks it's a GOOD idea. I'm sure half of it is budget constraints, "oh we can reuse Forces level assets for Shadow Gens? Sure why not, never mind the fact that we'll be reminding everyone once again why they hate Modern Sonic."
Frontiers was a chance to be different and instead it was the same shit as usual, in one respect literally because they just reused the level layouts from every previous boost game again but with debug room aesthetics, but in another sense because of Ian's revolting decision to make it a "character development" game. And what Ian means by "character development" is all of the characters complaining about how they've been badly written for the past 20 years. Yeah, we fucking know, and you're not fixing anything by making them self aware of it for one game! It's so hateful and depressing. You'd think he doesn't even like the series.
