My crack theory is that since Toby is friends with Camellia and collaborated on music, the "Death/Scythe" boss (who Spamton alludes to having clashed with before) might be a sort of "Reaper" not unlike the name of the DAW program that Camellia makes music in.

Maybe the FL Studio app icon fruit is the weird fruit from the strange tree too, lol. If you think about it, even the story of Deltarune might be like a "fruity loop," with a timeloop involving apples and bananas...
