The picture in his post comes from the Hyrule Historica book, but its under the section for LttP and just says that its Zelda in a scifi design they never used. The Miyamoto interview with Gamekult just says that the Triforce were electronic chips and that Link was suppose travel between past and future, but they just stuck with the fantasy elements.

A lot of people just extrapolated things from there. He's not wrong that that was a time period where a lot of sci-fantasy existed, but BotW is the only game that super close to the "Hyrule used to by ultra hitech until the DARK TIMES." I doesn't help that there was a popular fan artist who went all in on the whole "Hyrule was created by advanced aliens" thing.
