I worked at a startup before my current job I'm 33 but I was the ABSOLUTE YOUNGEST dude there. Everyone was male and like 40-50 years old on average. Of course the HR girls were all 20's and 30's but I swear those were the only women.
Big open plan floor holding like 1000 people. I won't say which company but it was clean energy scam shit. Most people were literally too afraid to make small talk. The open floor plan sucked because I would lean back in my seat, space out and find myself unintentionally staring at someone for like a few seconds. And when we went to lunch, no one sat with each other. Tons of Indians and shit stinking up the lunch area.
The workplace is fucking DEAD. I cannot understand why companies want people to work in person aside from commercial real estate value. Working from home is more effective and shit like this Redditor's failure would never happen.
