That's fine, but I'm a scatterbrained autist who simultaneously wants the freedom to use any switch I want, and have them cleanly organised so I'm not searching for switches/variables with wild differences in IDs. Self-Switches/Variables stop me from going crazy by letting me put a lot of one-time use clutter into a spot where it can be out of sight, and out of mind. I would even accept a way to auto-reassign all instances of a variable used in a project.

Yes but only for Common Events right now (picrel). They've also added return values for the End Event Processing command (with an arg toggle you can see in picrel too), though it's barely a space saver. Definitely hold back on updating until the Self-Variables get fixed, the latest version randomly crashes with no error handler.
