It was because Bandai Namco was making a version of it and it was apparently absolutely fucking horrible and everyone hated it during early play tests. The fact that it became a BOTW clone later on is just what happens when a game was made during that era of Nintendo. Honestly kinda want to see the Bamco version just for laughs. Nintendo threw away a 50 million dollar production so it must have been generationally terrible.
