Use the torch on the downhill portions. The fact that you throw it in an arc and the flames flow along the terrain means you can aim at things in front and below you which is hard to do with any other weapon

Spamming limits is no less tedious than spamming summons if you ask me. When I replay it now I skip every gunblade upgrade after the second one and only get the lionheart at the very end. That way I can kill 30 tonberries without having to watch that fucking blasting zone cinematic 2 dozen times.

Do what I did and
>Junction best magic to Squall's STR
>equip STR +40 % and STR +60%
>junction 100 deaths or 100 confuses or 100 pains to Status attack
>do limit break-tier damage with normal attacks and either kill or incapacitate most regular enemies with one hit
