How would you improve this?

I think I am going to change my whole approach to drawing after making this. It was over 100 layers and I was constantly using references and erasing and brute forcing things to make it work. I want to get better at making effortless simple and appealing sketches. I was thinking I should just go straight to paper with ink and just accept that they suck ass for a few months before they start looking presentable. The thing is with digital drawing my initial sketch is always bad. I just have to get something on the paper that I can adjust. I don't have the ability to see the drawing before I have drawn it. I can only draw something, notice what's off and use references to try to fix it.
