My brother started dating one and the stuff he tells me is baffling.

She has two teens and they don't do literally anything. They smoke weed all day, barely go to school, and might not make it out of high school. They also eat and snack all day and do absolutely nothing around the house. When my brother brings this up, single mom gets mad. Why? Does she hate her kids? Why is she letting them fail?

Another thing she does is say she's too tired and stressed out for him to come over or to go on a date. Then he finds out that she went to go hang out with her girlfriends.

My bro is pretty done and I am encouraging him to drop her. However, I've watched some youtube videos lately and the comments show that this is pretty common behavior for a single mom. Why is that? Is it the pair bonding? Entitlement? Why do they act so horrible?
