The extra ironic thing is that Nova got the better fate overall. If he'd been chosen for the Azure Striker, he'd have been locked into a pod like Joule and turned into a battery. As the holder of Psychokinesis, he was instead groomed to be an elite Sumeragi executive. Had he made it to adulthood, he may have been a shoe-in for a VP position. But he never could get over how his "dad" spent all his time with GV because of his septima. Meanwhile, Gunvolt hated the special attention (read, painful procedures and experiments).

So much narrative irony. Too much for a 2D game like this.
