My setup is dwm over plain xorg and not even any display manager, all Trixie did was break a bunch of stuff in subtle ways including nuking GTK2 and since I'm already installing my most used software and other stuff straight from upstream to avoid bugs introduced in Trixie, I can probably just stay on bookworm indefinitely.
