In the middle of playing them now, basically get the event fires up where you get extended colonial range but -2 colonists, which happens when you get the Quest For Aelantir. Get 3 colonists asap, 1 from Ideas, 1 from Religion, 1 from traditions. This allows you to skip Endralliande and have your first colonisation in Bloodgroves.
