I like this thing. Zorro and the Scarlet Pimpernel can easily blend heroics with kayfabe drama (not so different from publicized vendettas in any case). Venice's "Bridge of Fists" is a nice irl inspiration / contrast too. Less formal / classy but very much a practice the whole populace was invested in!

You can notice what you don't like by skim reading but that can be superficial. Game elements may make sense together / in play a way they don't in isolation in which case you've let assumptions snatch that perspective away. Giving things a go "vanilla" is how you can be sure and maybe notice what you'd otherwise miss. Besides >>96336603 "buying books" is barely a concern with the ShareThread a few clicks away.
