Thanks for the advice; I hadn't considered that resetting or starting a new file would also remove all my extra skills. Honestly Quadruple Giga felt just as impractical as in the original MGQ, but I assume it'll become useful in the third route once I get quad spirit summon?
I think for now I'll just stick Luka in the backline and try filling out the party with all the low-level shitters I never bothered training (plus Ilias and whatever route-exclusive recruits I get)
