The Exodus is a completely mythical tale. The most plausible theory is that the Jews joined the Hyksos in their conquest of the northern kingdom of Egypt, and when the Pharaoh of Thebes finally pursued them, they went straight to Canaan to take Jericho.
By the way, the Exodus was written during the Babylonian exile, around 700 years after the so-called Exodus.
