I have the basics down now but I'm left with a few questions about item rarity. I stubbornly want to avoid the broadsword life and use some of the fancier high level weapons as my model. Trouble is, many of them require up to 5 materials to craft them. My thought process was this
Craft a broadsword + 3 inherited items
Craft a high level sword + broadsword (and inherit those 3 items)
Craft another high level sword, inherit the base stats of the previous one + retain the 3 items from our original recipe
So far this all works but I lack the high quality items to test further. If I successfully inherit that 2nd sword alongside the 3 items into my final weapon do any of those components give rarity points? Or do the remaining 5 craft slots make up the rarity bonus here? I see no comments about equipment rarity so if that's a fat zero my potential rarity cap drops from 225 to 210, hitting that final tier at 200 becomes very difficult in that case.
