Anaxa and Herta simply do not want each other. He'd rather have his own huge Crit Dmg and fight isolated enemies. She'd rather fight respawning swarms which Doll Herta loves, and Himeko's fine with.
He just doesn't do well with Romance coded women.

Oh but in the interest of sincerity, you can win most runs just forcing Caster and playing roughly to whatever Caster's 2 classes are.
A generic powerhouse like Castorice is the best bet over trying to manage SP bricks like Herta. And Anaxa is dogshit in modes like this with swarms of enemies who die a lot. You'd literally be better off with small Herta if you wanted to use big Herta.

t. I do, in fact, have Anaxa. And I don't want to say I regret getting him, I think his kit is cool... but between add vomit and break bars on bosses resetting debuffs, I can honestly say he feels pretty shit in 90%+ of gameplay.
