Those archetype defining supports are just temporary band aids. The characters that are currently ruling this game are the generic DPS characters and their generic supports. Every archetype that requires extra steps like DoT and superbreak fell off fast.
How does Castorice and Aglaea deal damage? Summon their memosprites and attack to do damage. That is it.
How does DoT deal damage? Plant DoTs, build up stacks, then use the detonator to deal damage.
How does superbreak deal damage? Go through the entire toughness bar then you get 1 turn to do damage before you go back to dealing with the toughness bar.

Finished the story yesterday and I agree. I enjoyed most of the story. The character interactions were the best part, and I liked all the small Fate references. The attention to detail especially was great. But it wasn't really a grail war though, it was a Penacony story coated in Fate sauce. because supports are almost always a better investment, and she's a shilled support too. if you check this chart, 1.x and 2.x supports are still relatively strong in endgame even though they've been out for so long, but dps are replaced after a few patches because they can't deal damage anymore. rule of thumb in this game is to only roll dps if you really like the character, but roll a lot of supports to enable even useless 4 star dps through wheelchairs

You're kind of missing the point which is that fresh enemies constantly respawning do not have 5+ weaknesses to trigger the double skill.
And when distributed across 5 enemies as a lot of content currently is, he's also only implanting 1 weakness (typically an enemy's 4th).
It may take him 2 attacks just to get an elite to the point where he can double up, and you want elites dead by then. For bosses you want them phasing by then, but that also resets it.
You're basically only getting doubles right after his ult in a lot of encounters.
It's just a lot weaker than Kuru Kuru usually is in the Herta sense, or just Being Castorice or Being Saber in the main dps sense.

I remember when Jingliu was first revealed they made her look like she was gonna be so important, the big reveal at the end of the Xianzhou story like a post credits scene in a Marvel movie. And then two years later and all she ever got is a sidequest that most people haven't actually played because the game doesn't force you to. Even Blade has gotten significantly more screentime. And I use Blade as an example because he really has not gotten much.
