I like extreme bodies but yeah, I'm in the same boat as you. The Sue/Elizabeth fight seemed to show Sue as having some level of superhuman strength (punching through the door/walls) and I was disappointed the final monster didn't involve some form of muscle growth, especially as the character's whole schtick was being a fitness influencer. I was expecting something like pic related (who is named Elizabeth IRL) mixed with Re-Animator but we got a blob instead.

The Substance would have been a way better movie if it actually focused on on Elizabeth/Sue's place in the modern fitness industry in the age of social media. It seemed like she went directly from the exercise show to being some kind of vague model, and it felt thematically disjointed.
