Couple things wrong with that. Firstly, criminalization of something makes it easy to abuse marginalized groups. We are seeing that today in the US with all these anti-trans laws. They're labeling trans people as groomers and pedophiles, things that are already illegal. They are then able to use these already illegal things to justify the persecution of trans people under the banmer of protecting children. I am fundamentally opposed to such a thing. Secondly, I am opposed to the death penalty no matter what. The state should never, under any circumstances, willingly kill a person, even if the person is themself a murderer. Furthermore, the death penalty has been disproportionately used to kill marginalized people the world over.
