G1 had him die, come back as a ghost, get resurrected, then flung out into space and presumably died out there.
in Beast Wars his spark appears and possesses waspinator, then is flung back out into the vacuum of space.
Armada had him sacrifice himself.
Bayverse got his head blown up.
Animated had him die and come back several times before getting killed at the end (deleted scenes nonwithstanding.)
IDW had him sacrifice himself.
Prime had him PREDAKING'D
Cyberverse had him get beaten to death, then turned into a quintesson judge, then exploded.
Earthspark had his character assassinated.

it actually does upset me a little bit. if i ever was put in charge of the series, i'd want him to get a good ending. he's an asshole, but if fucking megatron can get let off the hook, why can't he? why not?
