Yeah, it’s all propaganda fiction. Anything supernatural in it can be discarded out of hand, since that isn’t real. Is that sort of stuff metaphorical? The ancients’ way of interpreting things? Just lies by lying liars? Whatever the case, it didn’t happen.

As for the ‘historical’ aspects, the best you can do is theorize about it. And the answer is that it is propaganda fiction within a particular historical context— or contexts, because of how many different types of people (messianic Jews, Hellenized Jews, brown gentiles, white Romans proper) authored it and for how long a time.

Like today, narratives are often intended not to reveal or to share truth but to obscure or invert it— something like the opposite is likely to be much closer to reality. Think of what our Jewish media and the ZOGbot media whose brains they occupy does to reality. Same thing 2000 years ago.

After Christianity really got going you are no doubt dealing with fictions spawned out of prior fictions, with little to no reality in sight. Ironically this is true probably because there were fewer and fewer Jews producing it. But by then I guess they didn’t need to.
