Agree on all points, and I like the way you put it. But couldn't whites come to identify more with their group and less with others when danger presents itself? Like with race gangs in prison, for example, albeit the psychology of criminals isn't 1:1 representative of the psychology of normal people, especially as it relates to altruism.
And we know that liberal whites are reproducing much less frequently than conservative ones, as well, and the latter don't possess the out-group bias of the former. Such things being partly heritable, it's possible we could see the dominant attitude held by whites about group differences turn around within this century.
