They take the fun part of difficultly of the battle facilities and PvP and the adventures of mainline without the sweat of going online. Well unless you play brutal shit like kaizo emerald or radical red hardcore mode, that's self-induced torture.

The only gen 9 designs I actually like are Tinkaton, Grafaiai, the megaman brothers, Gholdengo, and Roaring moon + Iron bundle (don't count them because they're basically forms of old mons). Gen 9 has the worst dex ever imo, most of the designs look like mid-stages rather than fully made mons.
