For atheists that dismiss Christianity as fairy tales, have you ever actually read the Gospels, specifically Mark and John? How do you account for their striking ambiguity, mystery, and depth that seems beyond the literary output of the time in antiquity? I've always considered Luke the more fairy tale-like, and that's the one that's been ingrained more by pop culture. Christmas pageants, star of bethelhem, three wise men, baby-in-a-manger, even the Jesus films from the 50s and 60s mainly adapted from Luke vs Mark and John.
