There's been a lot of QoL additions but they never addressed the biggest issues from launch:
Too many quests focused on literal who low res textured NPCs and their mundane bullshit.
The dialogue with NPCs is painfully verbose and since Paimon always repeats exactly what to do reading it is pointless.
Spamming your way through dialogue is painful with the forced animations and downtime between lines. It's beyond tedious.

I have no hope that any of this is being improved. It took them years just to add playable characters as NPCs in the overworld with a couple of dialogue lines each and that's hardly the kind of meaningful characterization many of us were hoping to see.
