My experience with the game is I actually started cleaning during the lengthy dialog sessions. I finished my chores before the game was done. At point I knew I never wanted to return to game until you can skip dialog. Even just auto playing the dialog instead of asking a meaningless engagement question that never once had a meaningful split in the conversation. At least don't interrupt my cleaning session if you aren't going to offer me gameplay as fucking a video game.

I seriously don't know how, as a studio, you can start from the artistically whole experience of Mondstadt and Dragonspine to releasing blatantly unfinished MSQ in Fontaine, the desert of dead desires post Sumeru, and cuddly gay "land of war" Natlan. And there's still no skip button. It seems like everything that was teased in early versions has been poorly planned or bastardized or deprived from players for some internal trend or ego to use as a promotion. Sumeru launch was the last time genshin seemed complete and it was already going to shit with the chasm immediately prior. Every improvement to things like gameplay fluidity is met with some arbitrary or broad series of failures on the content.

There's been a lot of QoL additions but they never addressed the biggest issues from launch:
Too many quests focused on literal who low res textured NPCs and their mundane bullshit.
The dialogue with NPCs is painfully verbose and since Paimon always repeats exactly what to do reading it is pointless.
Spamming your way through dialogue is painful with the forced animations and downtime between lines. It's beyond tedious.

I have no hope that any of this is being improved. It took them years just to add playable characters as NPCs in the overworld with a couple of dialogue lines each and that's hardly the kind of meaningful characterization many of us were hoping to see.

Pretty much. There's a bunch you could just drop forever like Sethos or Alhaitham or whoever, but that would still only cut the cast down to like 60, and the next year is going to add even more characters.

in my suggestion you would still have to roll the new characters to get anything and you're saying that's dangerous to gacha companies? this being the only gacha I'll ever have played it's not familiar to me why things should be totally locked behind equipping characters people don't even like

as a dev you could even skip any issue with shared animations by playing out a shared skill or effect with the ghost of the appropriate characters animation if that makes sense
