i dont necessarily even mind the blind edge, i dont care about practicality, the designs are just very dinky and bland, no hilt embelishment, etc

if they had a more flared, runed design, more detail and looked more impressive, like what you see on the war despots weapon, than i would have been fine with the short swords, blunt or no.
