It's annoyingly close to being a great game. People are just extra pissed, because -
1, it flopped
2, they visibly cut corners AGAIN
3, they haven't learned after 9 years.
4, they are fans who care about SNK fucking up their own IPs

The FGC today =/= fg fans of the past. It is now tribal, petty, and bitter, driven by money and clout. Lazier, more broken games have had more success than COTW due too that fact. Then you have KOF zoomers who hate anything made before they were born. So it's double hate. Then there are people burned by KOF 15 (picrel), who don't trust SNK anymore. So it's triple hate.
