I get it now, this makes sense.
But still why is Maria even aware of this venus-body-type monarch? The most logical explanation is that her barely there reading skills somehow let her get through a history book chapter about this local Catherine II with Wu Zetian characteristics, who was famous for her rather charming shenanigans, love themed adventures and a reverse harem probably too…
Maybe I should just keep playing and let the game answer everything. But crafting theories is one of the best parts of playing big rpgs for me, especially ones I'm not yet familiar with.

As humans? Like full sized humanoid tribe members not the homo demonica things, right? Although, that would be funny. I've never heard of fairies disguising themselves as mortals, so it could be interesting.
What really intrigues me about fairies in M:R is that right at the start of the game Gallica mentions how music was (or still is) the first manifestation of magic. I wonder what the implications could be. Could this elemental nature of music mean something deeper?
I mean what does music actually do? It reaches the mind, maybe even goes deeper than that pouring directly into the soul, stirring something inside, AWAKENING emotions, thoughts, and feelings. So in a way, it SUMMONS something from the depths of one’s being.
And with that in mind… could this magical nature of music be the key to reviving the long forgotten art of Debiru Samana?
