The spoiler section only has the outfits at the endgame, the King archetype design, and a whole wall dedicated to Louis. But aside from picrel, they don't have much commentary about him. I only cared about Louis and More and there's barely anything about either aside from Louis's archdemon design and "proto" design

If it was an specific "he's loyal to Louis because (reasons given)" no, there wasn't anything. I think it might have been someone's wishful thinking, but there's only a vague "he's very loyal to Louis" (which is just his regular description).
Some nips were saying that supposedly the Prince's expression sprites were new but they were already in the first exhibition and I guess it's new to them but they don't know they're datamined already.
I wasn't in the Tokyo exhibit and neither did my friend so we can't say for sure what is and isn't "new" but according to some people, what was new was Alonzo and Bardon concept art circa their Re:Fantasy days. So, nothing about Louis.
More's art has him without horns so I think they were really insistent initially to make him supposedly like a "godly" being (that's also how he's described in the pamphlet, otherworldly)
I just want a proper artbook already but I don't know how much they'll milk the exhibition....

ngl I lost all motivation to play after getting to the final dungeon/ louis month. everything has dread and anxiety making all fights a slog. and it takes in game days to do anything so essentially any choice I make I am wasting it with something else I could of done. and honestly the more I think about it the stupider the gauntlet runner/ other game mechanics I find are. like you can teleport using it cannonically but you just can't teleport to dungeons? only specifically to where the game lets you teleport so you are forced to waste days doing anything. archetypes are honestly all dog shit as well the only way to get the most use is doing some meta build. the dating simulator mechanic still being a thing for confidants etcs its just all so dumb and gay i never even liked that in the persona games and its present here in the not persona game. that's an actual Catherine model from Full Body actually, most of the character models aren't compatible with GFDStudio or any of the GFS stuff we have really because FB never left consoles and compatibility was never made, but some of them do open including the one used in the scene where Vincent wakes up the next morning after (not really) sleeping with her
Skeleton follows the same bone standard that P5 had so it's actually really easy to load P5 animations over these models. This was the first game that Studio Zero worked on but I am a little curious why they decided to practically start over with a totally different convention for Metaphor. Metaphor's GFS version doesn't have some key issues that P5's did including the fairly low vertex limit per mesh but none of that has anything to do with the deliberate decision to do all the rigging and bone IDs differently.

Finally got my PS4 copy of M:R delivered and I really hate my overly autistic need to play on physical only but whatever. it’s time to see what this Shin Metaphor Tensei is all about.
I’m going in completely blind, I’ve been avoiding anything game related on purpose, so starting on Hard is reasonable I guess, just in case it actually has some challenging gameplay mechanics. Damn, I really love the gameplay. It’s still simple and easy, sure, but it’s also fast and punishing enough in most cases. The animations are great, and the dub VAs did a solid job too. It hits just the right balance for me, feels pretty refreshing.
I really need to stop being so dumb for believing what people say. It’s the same thing that happened with SH2. I wish I had played this much, much earlier ideally at launch. Maybe I feel this way because I wasn’t expecting much from M:R

I feel way differently about these than I did when I was a teenager, morality systems often lead to the overall story of the game not really meaning much of anything at all. You can even look at Catherine which sort of did a morality system centered on how one character viewed relationships and whether he was going to take responsibility for his not actually pregnant gf or not, but what that game comes down to in the end is that you can decide whatever you want when it comes to the relationship you want to be in. It's like, okay, but coming into this I don't think I needed someone to tell me that, and that's not a fantasy I think I needed to live out in a video game either.
I feel the same way about Mass Effect and games in that vein because even with rare exceptions like KOTOR1 where the end of the game is actually drastically different despite the final dungeon being the same, the morality system is just letting you dictate the flavortext that comes with an immutable scenario. Mass Effect across 3 different save files with a ton of little flags that influence minor things culminates in 3 slightly different colored variations of the same ending and they all mean the same thing in the end.

But what it does give you is a way to react to scenes, add some flavour to interactions and create minor consequences. Maybe even slightly influence your party members’ alignment which is why I brought up the ME system in the first place.
You could say it’s mostly cosmetic in terms of gameplay and that’s fair. But that’s exactly why I love SH, it has the Demon Personality mechanic. Is it game changing? Of course not. But it’s fun.

Really it's more a matter of metaphor's story being considerably shorter and not episodic in the same way.
/v/ and the P3 crowd tried literally for years (which I always thought was funny because P3 basically spun a wheel on which character gets more than 3 scenes to themselves across the entire game), but this was always difficult to present as a flaw with P5 to most people because each character more or less getting a single arc dedicated to their character development was well within expectations and a well liked story format, and the arcs in P5 were lengthy with none of the problems the P4 arcs had. Getting rid of the party social links was also a very unpopular view that basically the same people spent years trying to push because as it turns out most people really enjoy being able to engage with the characters on their own one-on-one.

In Metaphor in some ways it feels like they regressed back from P5 to P4 era 30 minute character stories and until you get to the Magnus brothers you never get the sense that anyone besides Louis has more than or even as much going on as the average P5 character, especially Strohl who they try to compensate for by having him take an active role in things the party does, which is I think something Metaphor does do better with the party than any Persona on its face, but in reality his entire character arc is shorter than Yosuke's in P4.
This is a much easier flaw to present (and also imo one of the big reasons why P3's resurgence from the remake heavily waned) because the problem is an inherent lacking of something and it's a lacking that stands out because unlike P4, which could get away with this by being a soulless SOL anime first and a persona game second, Metaphor is something actually worth taking seriously and so it then begs the question why Klinger escaping is basically the end of Strohl's character when he didn't even get a full dungeon focused on him.

Another different example is Neuras. Neuras is fucking awesome and his McGuffin quest ends up being both painless and fun because his dialogue is so good, and I do think Metaphor generally does a great job having the Follower events follow a coherent theme like P5 while also being a bit more varied, but he's in the story less than Fuuka is in P3 or Haru is in P5. You can make the argument that this doesn't really matter because Neuras is more of a supporting character and you might put way more focus on the social link structure than someone who absolutely hates it because it's harder to digest, but again setting aside your opinion vs. someone else's, that inherent lacking is something fairly objective

tl;dr I explained why /pg/ regulars are still completely outspoken and metaphor's writing deviated from P5 in some significant not so good ways but also a couple good ways

Yeah, this. I can see why someone would say this, but I just can’t stand this character trope. I tolerated Mordin long enough in ME and Futaba in P5, etc to finally realise I really hate it. His SL better be so damn good that it changes my mind but we’ll see.

i feel you in some respects. p5's party dynamic gets less fun once makoto joins.
i like makoto as a character but i don't like how the party bends over backwards so she can be "smart."
and then haru is barely a character.
futaba is alright i guess.
yusuke is still based.

i don't think metaphor really has a problem with its party getting less fun though.

I really hope you're telling the truth, but I need to experience it myself to either confirm my concerns or hopefully be proven wrong.
As for P5, it's kind of funny how about 70% of the non-party-member SLs easily outshine the main cast's except for Ryuji and Yusuke. But I guess only the rushed development is to blame for this.

what do you like most about okumura's palace.

i enjoyed everything about the casino.
but i mainly brought it up for the cast interactions.
it's funny seeing everyone toy with goro or egg him on.
they kinda do the same thing with him as makoto but there's a reason for it this time around.
they're just making him feel important but they could've done most of the casino on their own/found their own way to do things.
i think the only time they're genuinely surprised by him is when he cheats the coin bridge, which serves as a reminder to take things seriously.
but mostly, goro falls for their deception because he gets off to being seen as important.

i guess i'll mention the cruise ship for being somewhat neat in that each party member gets to do something important in it but i also hated how methodical it all was, especially from an exploration standpoint where you just do the same puzzle 4-5 times in a row.
but iirc royal fixed it somewhat.
