What you get when the ult fires is pretty strong, but you have to already be in a position to push past racers in order to fire skills that... put you into a position to push past racers..
Late Surgers and End Closers maybe have easy victims in debuffers and maybe Doto can shove her way past dying frontrunners that didn't take first place

Every damn thing about who is positioned where to trigger whatever skill is a gamble though so..
