I am of the opinion that “minimalism”, as it refers to pistols, was settled back in 1911 when John Moses Browning essentially ended the competition between overly complicated pistol designs of the era. Since then, almost every mainstream pistol is minimalistic and a derivative of what Moses sought to accomplish. Putting Glock on a pedestal frankly leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Saying Glocks

Could be said about any other $500-$900 pocket and full size pistol nowadays. And let’s not pretend that Glock is by any means cheap, or particularly the nicest shooting out of the plethora of options. What you get is a reliable, safe platform that has an insane amount of aftermarket options. But if we are talking purely cheap, or being an easy shooter out of the box…it just ain’t it. Rugar LDRs are truly the minimalist option for someone who does not want to think too hard about guns. Think any harder than that, you get Glock. Think any harder than that, you realize Glock “perfection” marketing is borderline cultish
