KH1 simply has the much better tutorial, the intro with the images of the princesses, shadows, esoteric dream world nonsense was an immediate hook, then the Hikaru Utada anime OP sealed it was immediately memorable.
KH2 drops you into an entirely different character and then makes you get a part time job.
kh2 is the better game but has a much worse intro and narrative overall
