What it is is
>modern (just) distrust for major corpos
+
>fatigue from those major corpos controlling and adding bullshit to our lives
+
>propeganda from artists who are threatened by the new tech
Corpos pushing technology to do bad things are a given, but as a liberal society we have to be really careful to not infringe the rights of others, whether an individual vs a corporation, and screw over what amazing benifites AI can be to the individual or the small startups. Frankly this whole AI campaign has been amazing for Google and big tech; normies can't and won't stop Google from maximizing its AI usage; you fuckers are getting age gated and told to fork over PII to youtube and their 3rd party AI services and yet we haven't mass migrated off google or yt. Their entire PR and moderation team are robots yet Odysee, Rumble, and Vidi aren't getting any bigger, not enough people jumping ship.
Meanwhile you have small time creators, those ranging from getting good at prompting and model control ranging to those using AI soley for references getting dogpiled by fans or art "communities" acting holier than though because what they choose to draw is equally copied off something irl or a photo they didn't pay for. So corpos despite being the biggest threat and abuser are getting away with everything, deflecting critisism and walking away like Donald Trump, while the little man, the one who's supposed to benifite most from having AI assistance and management systems automated for him when he used to need to hire a team that he can't afford, are getting poopoo'd into trauma from rabid closed minded libs. Shit's fucked.
At least AI will always be agreed on as the future for custom made clip art.
