A thing that annoys me with "spamton is/isn't a misogynist" discourse is that a lot of Deltarune players are underages who only watch kids cartoons where a misogynistic character would be unquestionably evil for the purposes of teaching kids a moral lesson.
They can't accept that "having misogynistic tendencies" and "isn't mega-hitler-satan and has potential to be redeemed" aren't mutually exclusive. If they see Spamton as even a bit misogynist, they feel they aren't allowed to be sympathetic to him.
I think even if you look at this lens realistically it's pretty messed up. Would you say a homeless man doesn't deserve housing anymore because he has some regressive views about women? Do the homeless and mentally ill have to be perfect bastions of morality for their struggles to be taken seriously?
