Very much a true fact.
If you're ever bored, go sift through the steam market, itchio, GOG, Newgrounds, whatever the fuck place you get your kick of video games from.
Look at how many games look interesting from the thumbnail alone, and how many shoo you away because you look at the tags.
How many video games out there are actually some "HIDDEN GEM" that a small cult following loves, how many are just the worst thing a game can be - MEDIOCRE, and how many are obvious cashgrab bait; using whatever was popular at the time to try and make a quick buck?
I've gone through 5k games in my Steam Queue by now, and let me tell you, MAYBE 20 games there looked interesting to play.

I'm not a game developer, I'm just a gamer. So I'm wondering what goes through people's minds when making a video game and not thinking about actually making it fun to play or somewhat interesting to engage with.
