Kanata in Sora no Soto was the first warning, in retrospect. Also it's sad that KnK is still the best TM anime to date despite the property only becoming more lucrative since then.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, KnK was the peak of urban fantasy chuuni, both the 90s novel and 2000s anime. Its atmosphere has never been topped.
