Indeed. Even TB Monks are playing DEX for their first 3 levels anyway and that's a hard part due to the lack of options. Did the class feel weak back then? I highly doubt. Further empowered by Extra Attack at level 5 and Open Hand goodies at every 3 level you'll be a force to reckon with anyways.
