It's fun if you're willing to change your build to adapt to different situations. I don't mean switching from dexterity to strength or intelligence, I mean having different weapons.

If you're a strength character, have a crossbow, an ultra sword, and a small mace, or a shield. Or if you're a mage, have more than one weapon that scales with INT and an INT bow. More in that sense of variety.

If you like that, then yes, it's fun.
