Yeah that's me, I needed to get the frig done specifically for this game because I hate when I field unpainted models. And thanks man, one of my favorite things about the KO is imagining these gigantic airships looming over the battlefield.

As for CP, there's a few factors leading to why it's so hated in 40k. First, is the balance. I played 1 game of the old Ork CP vs the old admech CP and at no point did it seem like a close game. The Orks got the objectives turn 1 and couldn't be shifted at all. Next, there's nothing like the reinforcements in spearhead so once something is gone its gone, and boy oh boy is it still so easy to wipe out units in a single fight phase or shooting phase. Your 10 Ork boys are still getting around 40 attacks during their WAAAGH turn and 30 attacks otherwise. And these attacks will absolutely mulch most infantry they get ahold of since wounding is based on STR/T and the STR of Boyz is pretty decent. This is to say that the problem of how lethal 40k is is way worse in CP thanks to the smaller sized board and not smaller sized datasheet lethality, gun range, and number of attacks.
This could've been my own problem, but another thing spearhead has going for it is the mission packs themselves. The idea to replace stratagems (idk the name for it in aos) with the cards you draw to either do a cool thing or score points is a fantastic idea and isn't present in CP.
There's probably a lot more, that's just my thoughts.
