This is happening with books too, and it makes me seethe to no end. I wasted three hours at a bookstore the other day looking for some good fantasy or scifi. The vast majority of it was romance wearing the skinsuit of another genre. Ended up leaving empty handed. I want to try indy authors since traditional publishing isn't producing anything worth reading, but I'm worried about having to parse through a mountain of AI slop.
