my mother is the one who drives, just my dad and i been keeping things maintained on their cars for the last 20 years or so, my dad has been getting pretty slow and doesn't move like he used to after getting blood clots in his legs and a heart attack a few years back so i been doing most of the work these days, mostly with verbal encouragement more than actual advice on what to do, though i only know what i know from working on things so anything i haven't previously done helping him it is a learn as i go approach.

they own a 1959 Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500 (this is what i am helping with)
a 1989 Mustang Convertible with 5.0 engine (i've helped with a few things on this, the quarter window repair it needs seems beyond my skill level)
and they used to own a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette (repaired door lock, rebuilt headlight motor, general maintenance and used to drive this one myself for a while when they had it)

he did drive a fancy t-bucket somebody owned in a parking lot with the owners direction before, he is fully pitch black blind btw.
