dracothion is the direct father of all stadrakes, and he was the grandfather of a number of other dragon species, like draconith, argentine (the bigger wyrm in the back) was also his child.

It's unclear wether he's the father of ALL kinds of draconic species, or just some of the main ones, but he's called the father of dragons.
