slugging is leaving downed survivors on the ground rather than picking and hooking them. typically the risk:reward is that you're sacrificing permanent pressure (and perk value) for temporary pressure, useful for keeping the ball rolling or outplaying flashlights/perks or if you literally don't have time to hook or etc.. certain killers can take advantage of this strategy better than others, such that it can be oppressive. like twins. fuck twins.
and no, done correctly, tunneling (getting a survivor dead as fast as possible; not blindly full committing to a single survivor) is very powerful.
it is the highest pressure strategy available to killers. a 3v1 is very, very hard to win as opposed to a 4v1. teams that lack the coordination and/or skill to resist this pressure, to keep the tunnel target in the game for as long as possible and maintain efficiency without any major mistakes during and after, they crumble quickly to a well executed tunnel. they will be at the 3v1 in a game state that is unwinnable for them. and this is most teams you run into regardless of MMR (namely any kind of solo/duo matchmade lobbies, and a considerable amount of 4 mans)
i say well executed tunnel to mean one that isn't obvious and trivial to play around. i mean even those can be winners but you can keep pressure and chases on but still play around getting that one dude dead ASAP
