it truly is. thailand has some nice private resorts/beaches, and a handful of cultural sights (especially for buddhists). but it's a third-world shithole and generally grubby place. one and done.
if warm weather and friendly people are what you'r after, there's spain, the south of france, italian riviera, greek islands, etc.
thailand is for drugs, degeneracy, raping children, and so on.
