I'm looking for a decent hiking boot with some good ankle support and waterproof capabilities. Is is better to have ankle support of be lightweight? What caliber should I get in a bolt action? I am wanting to get into hunting with my brother and wasn't sure which route to go. I'm heavily considering .308 for the distance and power (not to mention I don't have anything of that caliber in my collection) but have also see bolt actions in 300 blkout.
