To be fair, it's kinda hard to write for The Guardian and how people react to them because by all metrics we're basically an invincible super god, even by Guardian standards. The fact that the player character doesn't have a personality of their own only adds to it. Not saying the writing isn't bad, but Bungie made this bed back in D1 and they have to lie in it.
